Hathor: Temple of Joy

Story

Step into the sanctuary of Hathor, where music soothes, love reigns, and laughter lights the heavens. “Temple of Joy” is a luminous and melodic metal ballad to the Egyptian goddess of fertility, celebration, and sacred femininity — the joy-bringer of gods and mortals alike.

Who is Hathor?

Hathor is one of ancient Egypt’s most beloved deities — goddess of love, beauty, dance, music, fertility, and the celestial vault. She was known as the "Mistress of the West" who welcomed the dead into the afterlife and the divine mother of pharaohs.

Depicted with cow horns and the solar disk, or as a beautiful woman playing a sistrum, she was worshipped as a source of joy, ecstasy, and emotional healing. Her temples were places of music, offerings, and life-affirming rituals.

Lyrics

Hathor: Temple of Joy

In the golden halls of sun and sound
Where laughter flows and drums resound
I dance with joy, I sing the light
A goddess crowned in morning’s flight
With sistrum shake and lotus breath
I turn away the hand of death
In sacred wine and silver song
The soul is healed where I belong

No war I bring, no blade I bear
Yet all who seek me find me there

I am Hathor — heart of flame
The joy you feel, the song you name
From womb to star, I guide the way
In rhythm, love, and golden ray
In temple light and lover’s sigh
I wear the sun across the sky

I soothe the lost with mother’s grace
A kiss upon the bruised face
From every birth to sacred feast
I walk with kings and dance with priests
In desert winds or garden bloom
My voice dispels the deepest gloom
No crown I steal, no throne I claim
Yet still they chant my gentle name

No war I bring, no blade I bear
Yet all who seek me find me there

I am Hathor — heart of flame
The joy you feel, the song you name
From womb to star, I guide the way
In rhythm, love, and golden ray
In temple light and lover’s sigh
I wear the sun across the sky

Let dancers sway and choirs rise
Let passion echo through the skies
In every note, in every kiss
The world remembers what it missed
Though gods may rage and mortals fall
My melody shall outlast all
A thousand years in temple stone
My laughter makes the earth my own

No war I bring, no blade I bear
Yet all who seek me find me there

I am Hathor — heart of flame
The joy you feel, the song you name
From womb to star, I guide the way
In rhythm, love, and golden ray
In temple light and lover’s sigh
I wear the sun across the sky

In mirrors deep and sacred drums
The spark of heaven softly hums
Where hearts rejoice and sorrow dies
You’ll find me there with open skies

So raise your voice, your hands, your soul
And let the music make you whole
I am Hathor, the joy, the gleam
The love that sings through every dream
