The Wisdom of the World

Story

"The Wisdom of the World" takes you on a journey of Anansi’s greatest challenge — the quest to gather and share wisdom. In this powerful and reflective anthem, Anansi attempts to hoard all the world’s knowledge, but soon learns that wisdom is a gift meant to be shared, not kept.

With a rich blend of heavy guitars, soaring melodies, and rhythm that embodies both struggle and triumph, this track highlights Anansi’s wisdom, and his ultimate realization that true wisdom is found in sharing. As he tries to keep the wisdom in a calabash, it spills out and spreads across the world, touching everyone’s lives. The music mirrors this realization, moving from tense and heavy to uplifting and liberating as wisdom flows freely.

Inspired by Ashanti and Akan mythology, "The Wisdom of the World" celebrates the eternal trickster who learns that wisdom is not to be hoarded, but to be passed along to all who seek it. With Anansi’s wit and guile, the world is forever changed, as knowledge becomes the ultimate prize, freely shared.

Lyrics

The Wisdom of the World

He searched the lands, he sought the prize,
The wisdom hidden in the skies.
A calabash to hold it tight,
Anansi's plan, a web of light.

But wisdom’s weight is not to keep,
It slips away when hoarded deep.
 Anansi’s mind begins to see,
The truth in what the world must be.

The wisdom of the world, a tale untold,
In every thread, the truth unfolds.
He gathers all, then lets it fly,
Anansi's hand, the world will sigh.

He filled the gourd, the wisdom grew,
But in his heart, a change he knew.
For knowledge cannot live in stone,
It needs to spread, it must be shown.

But wisdom’s weight is not to keep,
It slips away when hoarded deep.
 Anansi’s mind begins to see,
The truth in what the world must be.

The wisdom of the world, a tale untold,
In every thread, the truth unfolds.
He gathers all, then lets it fly,
Anansi's hand, the world will sigh.

He climbs the tree, a final try,
To hide it all, beneath the sky.
But wisdom spills, a river flows,
The world now knows what Anansi knows.

The wisdom freed, the world is bright,
 Anansi laughs, his heart alight.
For every mind must share the light,
In every truth, there’s endless flight.

But wisdom’s weight is not to keep,
It slips away when hoarded deep.
 Anansi’s mind begins to see,
The truth in what the world must be.

The wisdom of the world, a tale untold,
In every thread, the truth unfolds.
He gathers all, then lets it fly,
Anansi's hand, the world will sigh.
